Bags made for real, everyday life
Most women do not switch to a crossbody because of fashion. They switch because of a shoulder.
That is what we kept hearing. A rotator cuff. Bursitis. Arthritis. A bad wrist. Or simply, as one woman put it, "as I've aged." Somewhere along the way the bag she had carried for years started to ache by the afternoon, and she went looking for something that did not.
Almost nobody designs for her. We do.
What we build for
Weight, before anything else. She is right to care about it. A bag that feels fine in the shop is a different bag by four in the afternoon.
Not too big, not too small. The most common complaint we found about other bags was size, in both directions. Ours are built to hold what you actually carry, your phone, your glasses, your wallet, keys and tissues, without turning into something you have to lug around.
No more digging. Pockets where your hand already goes, and a place for your phone you can reach into without opening the whole bag. You should be able to find your keys at the car door without stopping.
A strap that stays put. Flat, fully adjustable, and it does not slide off your shoulder or twist when you pick the bag up. You should have to adjust it once.
Practical does not have to mean frumpy
This is the trade-off we refuse. Bags that work tend to look like they work, and bags that look good tend to hold nothing.
Clean lines, quiet hardware, and colours that go with what you already own. Something you are glad to be seen with at dinner and still happy to wear to the market on Saturday.
Hands free
Ask a woman why she loves her crossbody and she rarely says convenience. She says freedom.
Both hands for a grandchild, the shopping cart, the handrail, the coffee, the camera. Your bag stays where you put it and stops asking for your attention.
Calm, not fear
Our bags zip closed and sit where you can see them, and that is about all we want to say on it. We are not going to frighten you into buying a handbag. Feeling settled about your things is simply good design.
